There is nothing noteworthy here but the journey away.

The saddest thing is that most people will find this humorous instead of serious. We’re standing right beside one another, and yet we text others instead of actually speaking to each other. Have you ever sat down and thought about how uncomfortable we now are around one another that it’s so bad that we literally pretend to be texting someone when we’re not, just so it’s less awkward to stand beside people? What’s supposed to strengthen our bonds has taken away from it. It’s time to take our faces out of our phones and notice the world, give a kind gesture to someone, and go SEE your friends instead of just texting them.
I’m going to let that sink in.

Ah yes let me just up and leave school right in between my classes so I can go see the friend 40 miles away that i’m currently texting instead of making idle chit chat with the people around me that I don’t particularly care for.Fuck your pretentious shit.

"whines evil technology is making people antisocial its not real communication if its not face to face and im a pretentious self righteous shitbaby that asks random people on the street for the time and feels good about it"

Cinderella: Do nothing to help yourself. Accept the abuse you get, because one day a fairy person might come out of nowhere and magic you a better life.
Sleeping Beauty: You are not a person in your own right. You exist only to be a pretty thing to look at and drive the plot.
Snow White: Accept whatever offer a stranger makes to you. (I’m not kidding - she does it three times in the original story.)
Jasmine, technically Aladdin: The story is not about you. You are the love interest. You are the prize.
Ariel: It’s completely okay to make a deal with the devil and give up your entire life and free agency (i.e. your voice) for a man you’ve never met. Everything’ll turn out just fine in the end.

Some disney princesses were ok, but some of them could be seen as somewhat sexist ( their stories, not so much the actual princesses,) but a lot of these disney movies were made when people were less enlightened about gender issues in general.

I want to know why Brave wasn’t more popular. If  I recall, Merida didn’t have a love interest.

You hit the nail right on the head. It wasn’t very popular because there was no romance. And to most people, no romance = eternal boringness of boring boredom.

Didn’t Jasmine say she WASN’T a prize to be won? If I remember correctly, Jasmine fell in love with Aladdin because of who he was as a person, and got angry with him about her being a prize at least once, and got angry when he lied to her about being a street rat.

OP you got most of the princesses wrong
Cinderella’s lesson was hope for people in abusive homes. She endured because she had no agency and nowhere to go. All she had in the world was her stepmother, who was cruel. OP, people in abusive homes have nowhere to go, her fairy godmother was the only thing she got as a mean to go out of what they imposed to her for once and she took the chance and went to the party without the stepmother’s permission. Need to remind you that she also took some bravery to display the shoe just so she could get the fuck out of there. That’s huge for someone who is in a terrible household, do you know what happens with people who goes against an abusive person? You want to know?
Jasmine: You are right awkwardnoob, she was not a prize, she said it. That’s why at her age she scared away her suitors, and had Rajah attack the last suitor. Remember that the only condition she asked for her father was to marry out of love, she wanted to be seen as a person, not as an object.
Snow White: Can’t argue there. She is a product of her time (Of the sweet woman who is in need of a man to save her). But why is it wrong for a 14 year old who have a terrible stepmother (Who I need to remind you have all the power since she is the Queen) to wish to get out in the only way she could? Are we going to ignore other traits like her kindness to others?
Ariel: OP, have you heard the song “Part of your World”. She wanted to explore, she wanted to have legs even before she met Eric. She wanted to be a human to see what it’s like, she hated to be confined in the sea. The only reason we have her changing for Eric was because… that’s the plot of the fairy tale (Which ironically you are ignoring its message of not changing for the one you love. Need to remind you what happened to the Little Mermaid once she got legs? Once she acted like the fool, and danced in despise of her pains? She got dumped and rather than killing the prince, she died. All because she wanted to change for someone she had never met)

Honestly I am sick to death of the slamming of Disney Princesses because they don’t cater to the ever rising standards of tumblr idiots. Here is a group of strong excellent women with various stories to be told, each with a lesson to take from them and all some of y’all can do is tear them down.Who.The.Fuck cares about all that other? If kids can enjoy these movies that’s what matters at the end of the day because that’s who they’re made for. Like really this is what we’re doing now? Analyzing kids movies for anything we can perceive to be a negative and use that to somehow undermine the entire movie and it’s characters?I seriously wanna know how many little kids give 2 fucks and an apple pie about this shit y’all throw out.
